A day trip to Muir Woods to get back in touch with Nature. My mom really likes these low grade slopes and is able to powerwalk indefinitely.

Unfortunately I don't have anything in the foreground for perspective, but this fallen trunk is about 6 feet in diameter. Not trusting dad's innate sense of direction, the family consults the trail map.

Gosh, trying to compose the captions for this 2 years after, I have no idea what I was trying to capture for this picture. Same thing for this one.

Dad tells me this is a garden snake, but it still scared me quite a bit since it was my first time seeing a snake outside the confines of a glass cage. I can't tell the difference between a poisonous one or a docile one. UC Santa Clara's Mascot: the infamous banana slug!

An action shot along the trail. I had no idea that these hallowed out trees appear naturally in Nature. I'm not too sure if this was caused by fire or disease, but still pretty cool.
