I've always wondered what it would be like to be under a wayward pine. In Terry Goodkind books, they are always referred to as a place where travelers can take shelter from bad weather.

The needles are supposed to be dense enough that even under heavy downpour, the base of the tree remains dry. I realize none of these photos of pine trees in them; its just an interesting thought I had. I love these large redwood forests.
