| Whew! All done! Only 3848 steps! |
We're at about low cloud level. |
| Way in the background is Honolulu. |
Too bad there's no old wise man living up here. |
| On a really clear day, you'd be able to see Maui in this direction. |
Honolulu on the left, Pearl Harbor on the distant right. |
| The view is fantastic at the Satellite dish. |
Nice group photo at the top. |
| An old fuel container, probably used as emergency supply for the station. |
I feel sorry for all the army reserves who had to build this trail and satellite dish. They had to hike up with all these materials on their backs, and assemble it on the mountain. |
| A much deserved nap at the top of the world |
A little mouse joins us for the view. She's directly in the center of the photo, by the fence. |
| The mouse is a little to the bottom right from her former spot. |
My camera sucks, so no zoom lens. I didn't want to scare the little guy away by getting closer. |
| The clouds start sneaking in. |
Being at the top of the mountain, the wind accelerates over the ridge, carrying strands of cloud with it. It looks almost like water flowing in slow motion. |
| Adam rummages for snacks. |
Another mouse photo. She's slightly to the top right of the center of the photo. If you didn't know, I used to have pet mice and rats, so seeing a wild one was a thrill. |
| Emma checks out the mouse. |
We decide to head back down before the clouds envelope the trail. |
