Hello and Welcome to Evan's Web Page

12/11/02
Just finished my final class today. Only thing left between me and Hawaii are 3 tough finals. Wish me luck. Here's some nice photos from my room.

Regarding the poll, I'm personally leaning towards either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Sorry Adam, no Forest Engineer for you.

11/26/02
So close to Thanksgiving! Here's something to put us all in the holiday spirit.

11/14/02
Hmm, various small things to tell today. I've bought the extended version of Lord of the Rings DVD from Amazon.com. It costs $25, but you get free shipping, a $10 mail in rebate, and a free ticket to the Two Towers. Pretty awesome, eh?

I logged into MyUW today, and found out I could register. It turns out that I meet the minimum credit standards to be a Junior exactly! I get early registration which is nice, but now I got to declare a major. Any of you got any opinions on which Engineering discipline I should pick? Make your voice heard by voting in the Poll!

11/12/02
Similar to Worms, this cool online game has got me addicted. Contact me if you think you can beat Furious Babar!

I bought a new kryptonite lock from REI yesterday. I was considering the unbreakable "New York Chain" they carry, but the thing weighs about 6 pounds. Hopefully, I'll be able to buy another awesome cheap bike.

11/04/02
I'm 19 years old today. I don't feel much older or more mature than 18, which could be good if you look at it in the eternal youth kind of light. Damn my boyish good looks!

I've been playing in the intermural raquetball tournament, and so far am 3-0 for the practice matches! Not too shabby!

Man, I really want this car.

10/31/02
Happy Halloween everyone! Unfortunately, I was not able to get enough clothes together to be Chairman Kaga, from Iron Chef. I do have this Wallace and Gromit video to make up for it.

10/26/02
Midterms, 1 year anniversery, and projects; Oh my! I've been a busy bee lately, but I've managed to put up a summer photo update! Time to get nostalgic!

10/14/02
My bike got stolen today. It cost me only 60 bucks for the bike and 25 for the lock, but still, I don't think I'm going to buy a new bike until I get a badass kryptonite lock for it. The theives cut right through the chain no problem. My only conselation is that I still have my bike seat, as I take it out when I'm not riding the bike.

10/13/02
Gavin's Birthday was yesterday!
He's 17 and extremely tickalish. I've got another update for ya'll. I hope all you have a great day. Call me if you get the chance.

10/11/02
Adam's Birthday was yesterday! He's 17, and though he's bigger than me, you can always call him "mini-D"! =D I'll make a special Adam album someday.

Here's a collection of photos I took in the beginning of last summer. If you like fuzzy animals, you'll love these photos.

10/06/02
Emma and I bought bikes yesterday, and have taken them out several times. It's good exercise and great fun, but I really hurt, and I'm not talking about my legs. :( I bought my bike for 60 bucks, not bad, but it probably won't last me long as you often get what you pay for. It looks really bling bling tho, and I'm really happy with it.

I'd make larger updates to my site, but the amount of work I have is bogging me down. More on this later.

Managed to free up some time and to put a respectable face to the picts of my room.

10/03/02
Wow, this has been the longest that I haven't updated my site. Well, lucky for y'all, I'm planning to have tons and tons of updates. I have over 150 photos taken in the past 3 months, so prepare yourself for tons of goodness. I'm safe and sound in Seattle, and the new year is busy, but I'm enjoying myself inspite of the work. I'll definately have a good update on the weekend, but for now you can browse through this webfolder, which has some nice photos of my room.

7/18/02
Have you heard of the new Honda Civic? This article goes quite in depth about all the new technologies it possesses. It's a hybrid car which gets about 40-60 mpg and is priced about 20000. Read on for more.

I'll be back . . . (in one week)

7/14/02
Last Saturday we went to a Mariner's Game. Go Ichiro!

7/12/02
Bored out of your mind? Do you like cute animals? If you said yes to both, click here!

Only 2 more weeks until I come back! Yippie! Linguistics isn't too bad of a class, even though there is a ton of memorization.

7/7/02
Ever see those new Apple Computer commercials? You know, the ones where people state why they switched to Mac from PC? I bet you haven't seen the newest ad!

7/1/02
Much has happened in the one month span from my last update. Finals, moving to a new apartment, and lots of stress. I have many many pictures to post, and will be doing so very shortly. Here's a small sampler of what I have. I also have summer school starting next week. After one month, I can return home! Yay!

6/03/02
Ah, just 5 more days of school, then finals, then freedom. Things are looking up. Weather has been hanging around the nice warm 60's. I just bought a nice inflatable mattress for the apartment in the summer; hopefully it will be durable enough to last me until fall.

If you were starving for entertainment, watch this martial art video. It's an extremely flashy Chinese martial art called Wu-shu. Awersome stuff!

5/28/02
Since there will be many of us crammed into an apartment for the summer, we have been scouting out various gaming consoles lately. We've been considering the Game Cube due to its excellent multiplayer games. Now, another major consideration to take into account is the controller for the gamesystem. One of the major complaints of the X-box has been its mellon sized controller. However, some of you obviously haven't seen the new Game Cube controller. (scroll to the bottom of this page)

I've finally broken a long two week rest with this update, and will try to have many mini updates after this one. Much stuff has happened lately, and I'll try to keep you all posted.

5/13/02
I've been so beleaguered with numerous responsibilities that I've had to neglect the site. I recently started a job at UW's Medical Center, and work as a Lab Assistant. I sterilize lab equipment, order supplies, and best of all, check for excessive radiation. I walk around the lab with Geiger counters listening to the beeps and upon hearing constant beeps from my instrument, proceed to run the hell out of the room. Nah, seriously, I really enjoy my job, especially the money part. Anyway, back to the website, I have a small update on the Hair Project. Read on to find out what style won!

4/28/02
You know that project that I said I was working on? It's done!

4/21/02
It turns out that UW is firewalled, so unfortunately only fellow UW students can access my computer =( Anyhoo, I do have a small update for the site, it can be seen here. I'm working on a project, and promise promise to have it done before the end of this week.

4/18/02
Sort of a momentous update today. My computer is now acting as a server, and you can view some of my files at this place. Please treat this as a privilege, not a right. Don't download 30 songs simultaneously or anything like that, or I'll have to take my webserver off-line. Hopefully, nothing will happen as only family and close friends are supposed to know about this website. Anyhoo, enough with laying down of the rules. Feel free to browse through any of the folders you see and have fun! I'll be trying more new cool stuff as I gain more experience with the webserver.

4/14/02
On Friday we saw Incubus in concert! Hoo-ha!

4/05/02
Hmmm, I guess site does kinda need a new name. Stockevan used to be the epitome of coolness, but times change and Stockevan just doesn't have that badass sound that it used to. Anyone have any ideas? I promise a nice update this weekend. In the meantime, my cousin Gavin suggests you watch this epic movie trailer
starring Eddie Griffin and Chris Kattan. Hoo ha

4/06/02
While I'm still thinking of another name for this site, I created a sweet page for my photos. While incomplete, I believe this new page makes it much much easier to view the large amount of photos I have. Check it out and give me some feedback.

4/04/02
Welcome to Stockevan's New Home! The url is different than before, but either than that, there should be major differences except that stuff downloads faster. I might need a day or two getting all of my stuff organized, so you'll have to tolerate no updates until then. =(

To make up for it, here's something special I've been saving for awhile. Remember how I TA'd for Punahou last summer? Here's a small video we made.

4/03/02
Just to clear up any confusion, the 4/01 post was an April Fool's joke. I know many of you have been waiting for my financial demise, but regrettably I will not be a bum, at least not yet. This day has been awhile in coming, but I will not be updating this website anymore. Stockevan will now be seen at its new home at http://students.washington.edu/evand

Why am I doing this? Well, this new server is at UW and is therefore much much faster. They give me a hundred megabytes of webspace to play with, and this gives me much wider range of cool things to do. Geocities has been a good server, but it's day has come. There are no endings, only beginnings.

4/01/02
Big update on my life. I've decided to drop out of college and become a bum. The vagabond's life isn't so bad, you get free food, a nice place to sleep at night, and you can do what ever you want. Unfortunately, as a bum, I won't be able to have access to a computer, so I guess this is the end of stockevan.

I'm also selling all of my earthly belongings, so email me to get dibs on my stuff.

It's been great. Good luck with life everyone.

-Evan

PS: Could any of you spare a quarter?

3/31/02
Happy Easter to Everyone! Lots of projects have been brewing in my head, and once I run out of pictures to post I'll start working on them. Ever visit the Seattle Aquarium? It's pretty nice.

3/29/02
If you look on the left side of the page, here's that poll that I'd promised you. Finally, eh? I'm trying to enjoy the last few days of spring vacation that's left. As for this website, I'm doing a lot of organizing that should've been done a long time ago. Lots of stuff is being transferred over to my UW webserver from Geocities. Here's some food for the mind.

You hear about Israel invading Palestine and holding Arafat hostage? There isn't going to be peace for a long time after this.

3/28/02
We went to the Seattle Aquarium today and also got some pastries from Pike's Market. The Aquarium pictures should be put up in a few days. Here's the set of Canada pictures I promised.

I'm signing up for Judo next quarter, and am also trying to get a job. I'll try to complete a project or two before school starts again. Also, there will be a new poll soon!

3/27/02
Came back from Canada 2 days ago. Still on vacation and am currently trying to get a job.

Lots of stuff has happened since I last updated. Racquetball Injuries, Final exams, and a Canada trip! (don't see this following link if you are the faint of heart!) Here's a small taste. More updates to follow tomorrow.

3/21/02
It's Emma's Birthday today! She's a ripe old nineteen.

No updates in awhile due to many reasons, including but not limited to: final exams, racquetball injuries, and plain ol' laziness. I'm leaving for a trip to Canada tomorrow and am returning on Sunday. Lots of pictures and updates will follow after Sunday! Happy Spring Break to Everyone!

3/11/02
About 2 days ago, a huge cold front came from Canada, and we got a huge ton of snow! It was all gone the next day, but we'll always have memories!

3/07/02
Remember how a long time ago I had downloadable music for the "Song of my Mood?" Well, I'm bringing it back! Starting today, the songs after this date will be downloadable, just click on the name and you can start listening till your heart's content. Yes!

Also other things are in the works: I'm going to organize all of the photos I took with my digital camera, so the photo album is probably going to get an update as well.

Quicktime VR is something I think is really neat. Here's a small gallery of cool places.

3/05/02
More photos here! I just got back my Math Midterm, and did very well! Happy-da!

I was just wondering, do most of you like the format of my new photo albums? or do you like the old ones better? Please put your comments on the message board. I'll put a poll in a small while.

2/25/02
Have you seen this movie trailer? My cousin Gavin sent me this link. It looks a lot like Crouching Tiger except with fireballs! Awesome!

2/21/02
Do you like action movies? If so, you have to see this one. There are also games and other fun stuff to do here. I recommend watching Xiao xiao #3 first.

2/20/02
Yahoo! With a large English paper mostly out of the way, I now have more free time to work on the site. Did you enjoy your 3 day weekend? I sure did!

2/14/02
Valentines Day! Make sure to tell you're special someone that they mean something to you!

I know that recently I haven't had a large amount of updates on my website, but this is due to the extraordinarily large amount of things I have to do. Remember, if you contact me through emails or talk to me, I'll probably update more often. Otherwise, my only incentive to update is whenever I feel like it. =)

2/09/02
Recently, I've been feeling pretty unproductive. It's not that school doesn't take up a lot of my time, but I believe that I can do a lot more with the time I do have free. I'm probably going to try and get a job or volunteer someplace soon.

An interesting site you might want to check out!: The Smoking Gun
This site lists the most incriminating documents found within the past year. It's pretty interesting what shows up.

2/06/02
We went hunting for places to rent today. We're trying to move out over Spring Vacation so we won't have to pay for another quarter for housing.

2/01/02
The Punahou Carnival is underway right now! Hope you guys have a ton of fun. Man, I feel all nostalgic now. =p

1/30/02
A nice little collection of snow pictures are up! A project is in the making, so expect one to be up in about a week or so. Good luck to everyone with midterms.

1/28/02
A badly needed update to the links page has been completed. Updates to the poll, song of my mood, and quotes will follow when I find the time.

1/26/02
More camera goodness! Also, we had snow yesterday! Alas, it wasn't enough to throw around, but it was still nice. I also got my drivers license, so I'm now well on the way to getting in state tuition. Yes!

To all of you who visit this site, please send me suggestions and or comments. I really do like to get feedback and stuff. =)

1/22/02
Yes! My camera cable came in the mail today, so here's the story of my flight to Hawaii. Another page to come tomorrow.

1/17/02
Guess what? There's a 3 day weekend coming up! Yahoo! Not only will this be a great opportunity to catch up on sleep, but also give me enough time to do badly deserved updates for this site!

Have you heard about how Limp Bizket is searching for a new band member? Did you know that they already found their man? I'll bet you never knew that it was the Cookie Monster!
